FORCE POWER/SKILL:
Gnoll has a great deal of experience and power in the force, even when compared to others of his species, known for being powerful force users. Gnoll is particularly knowledgeable and skilled in aspects of the Sith, having spent Millenia researching and practicing their methods. However as he no longer uses them, Gnoll has come to using more universal techniques, with some lightside abilities that he is particularly skilled at, but still as powerful as before.

In spite of having only been a Jedi for a few centuries, Gnoll still has become one of the most powerful, as he was already naturally extremely strong in the force. And the century after century in its presence has given him a much better view and control of it.
Dark side:
All basic abilities: Extreme
Vast knowledge on sith history, techniques, and powers, particularly those of survival and which can help grow one in the force such as force drain and sith alchemy, and memorization of lightsaber styles. This knowledge was collected over thousands of years of extreme study and practice. While Gnoll remained very unkown compared to others, his power was among the masters like Nihilius in the first few centuries of being among the other Sith, while having the knowledge of numerous holocrons and ancient texts and skills.
THE PRESENCE OF ANCIENTS:
When Gnoll is not hiding his presence in the force it is extremely easy to find him, even when he turned to the light, which he is still somewhat weaker in, his presence became like a stream in the air, invisible, but as if it was sifting through your very body. When he was in the dark side, when unmasked, it was like the ocean. Beating down on the very bodies of people anywhere near him, something he'd used to shock people in the past by hiding it up until a moment and then letting it all be felt once again.
COMBAT SKILLS:
Many of Gnoll’s existing skills for combat still managed to transfer over well when he ceased using Sith techniques. As some of it was his natural physical skill, and some was lightsaber skills (most of which) are not specific to either side.
Plant Surge: Gnoll takes full advantage of his plantlike nature and has figured out how to use this on himself, he actively manipulates his own body causing it to grow mid-combat to encompass his opponents and restrain or crush them through sheer force. This was actually an ability he initially learned through the dark side, but was far more applicable when he turned to the light.
Sacrifice for gain: Gnoll may intentionally do something that could potentially cause him to lose a limb or get stabbed or shot, knowing that he can take the damage, and then take that moment of them attacking to attack on his own.
Lightsaber techniques:
Gnoll has managed to learn and master every single lightsaber style when he was a sith, forming his own techniques by adding more limbs to his body and using force sense instead of only his eyes to combat his opponents without directly paying attention to them. At the time, his intention was often to grow additional limbs, take up a number of lightsabers, and leap directly into the middle of his opponents in a force rage destroying as many at once as he could.
Under the lightside Gnoll still retains some of this mastery, though he has doubtlessly had to alter the way in which he uses his abilities, as force rage is not a technique used by the Jedi. He still possesses incredible skill but is far more deadly in dueling under the dark side.
COMBAT/FORCE WEAKNESSES:
While Gnoll is still incredibly powerful, and has spent centuries in the light side, having abandoned the dark side still has some effect on him. Feeling out of his element is still a common factor. And as he once used Force Rage regularly, it is strange to not have access to it.
APPEARANCE:
Gnoll’s appearance can change rather easily. But most often he is a 4 meter tall brown, green, and black mass of treelike construction that has a mostly humanoid appearance. He has taken a note from the Basalisk’s book and decided to add two large limbs below his normal ones, but usually placed more behind him and curled up to hide themselves. When in combat two more but smaller arms often appear.
Gnoll has little reason to actually wear clothes, particularly in combat and as he often can change sizes at a moments notice, the only reason he may wear clothes is to wear an identifying factor such as the jedi robe. And as Gnoll is much more akin to a living plant then a typical creature, it is not exactly seen as very peculiar.
Built to be heavy and powerful, with red eyes, and his multiple limbs, he can appear incredibly intimidating if he wants to be. While Gnoll may crouch or even somewhat shrink his size in some way to avoid this among some, he considers it rather pointless as people should learn to deal with the size of his species.
BIOGRAPHY:
Gnoll was, like many of his kind, force sensitive right off the bat. However, Gnoll seemed to possess an unusual level of strength in it even when compared to brethren that had gone into the Jedi. Patient, but ever pressing, Gnoll practiced his abilities for over a thousand years before he ever left his world. He wished to become stronger, become a being well beyond the power of any before. He would be a permanent apprentice, learn, learn, learn. Until he had finally proved to himself what he could do. Why? A drive, a surge of belief in himself that he was the rightful ruler of the universe and that he would do anything to command it. To lead it his way. Pride was a powerful thing. And why had he waited so long? He was searching, watching for the perfect time to insert himself among the sith. It was in around 4300 BBY that he finally stepped out. At first he searched for sith Holocrons and history, studying them in depth, then vanishing leaving things as they were. His growth in some ways was slow, in others was quite fast. He wanted to remain obscure. Taking on Masters as if he were a weaker student then he was and learning their ways, while watching the true masters from afar. He had not wished to intervene with the greater kind until he was strong enough. For the next few thousand years he kept this up, changing form more than once, changing his name or title occasionally. Learning more and more. It was during the New Sith War that Gnoll finally took a greater part, calling himself Mirtis and joining in battle after battle, never taking on more then he knew he could handle, but still pushing himself to grow.
And yet, somehow, they were defeated. Gnoll had taken part in a battle, trying to push himself further, but his allies had been overwhelmed. He saw the chance of death, and made a choice. He blended into the forest, turning himself into a tree and combining a hibernation type trance with the Art of the Small to hide his presence indefinitely. Centuries passed before he returned, right on the brink of the Empire returning once again, as he sensed the destruction of so many jedi awakening him from his sleep. He sensed Sidious and Darth Vader and at first began to search them out, at a distance, observing their actions. But he saw how much the Sith had changed. They were no longer what they once were. And he no longer held a place among them. Powerful though he may have become, the Sith were no longer what he wished to be known as. So he vanished. Lost in what he was meant to be Gnoll was eventually discovered by an aging Jedi, who nearly died defending a Neti that had not yet grown. Gnoll stepped in, more to protect his own kind who had nearly gone extinct, then to protect the Jedi.
Gnoll assisted in bringing the young Neti to a safer place but was confronted by the man who sensed the darkness from millenia of hatred and desire for power. They spoke for hours, arguing, discussing, listening. The Jedi remained patient all throughout. As if he saw something Gnoll could not. Eventually, their discussion ended. Gnoll did not give in then, it would be another decade as he pondered the man’s statements. Slowly drifting closer and closer to the light until he eventually turned to it instead of the darkness alone. Abandoning the Sith as a path that was meant. Even with the fall of the Galactic Empire, and rise of the Sith empire under Darth Vyrassu, Gnoll kept to himself, practicing the light more fervently then he ever did the dark, but with just as much patience. He sought out the Jedi Order, wishing to join discreetly, avoid making any uproar about his near extinct race or extensive past. He knew he did not deserve kindness from them, but these were not the same people as he had fought many centuries ago.
And Gnoll would remain among them, learning the ways of the lightside, and reapplying what he had learned over the many Millenia from the dark. He never did manage to truly let go of it, but he was able to take on a new talent, and learn from the Jedi. For the next few centuries he would remain quiet, it was easy enough to reach the rank of Master, he had already learned plenty about the force in his time. What he was changing the most was his mindset and the way the force was used, to him nothing about the force itself or his connection to it changed. Just about him.
