Trephination
Outer Rim Territories, The Tion Cluster;
Lianna system, Lianna.
Through the use of simple tools the act of Trephination was to make a small incision into the base of the skull, so as to allow small objects to pass through the hole that was created. In modern times this old, antiquated, prehistoric medical procedure would be considered barbaric and odd to most people. The practice itself had not been heard of for several millennia, with only old transcripts and writings from ancient history which told of the procedure, and how it was done. As a child Alicia had come across a volume which explained what Trephination was, a subject that her parents would have likely scolded her for if they ever discovered her reading such a thing. But from what she had read and managed to deduce it had consequentially fascinated her enough that, even now twenty years later, it was still something that she wished to experience firsthand. This desire was only amplified by her beliefs and following of the dark side. Now that she was on Lianna, a trading world found on the Peremelian Trade Route, inside the Tion Cluster and subsequently in the heart of the Sith Empire, Alicia wondered if this simple act of trade and commerce would be the tools that would allow her to create the incision necessary for her work as a Sith Lord.
The Sovereign Union of Greater Tion was a new faction that had come to the Chandrilese's attention, with Lianna serving as it's capital. Somehow they had eluded the capture of the Sith Empire, and having done so opened an opportunity for Alicia to make her move. Traveling up the Peremelian Trade Route from her homeworld of Chandrila to Lianna had been easy in comparison to her last adventure beyond the Bormea sector. The last time that she had traveled this far out into the Outer Rim Territories had been to rendezvous with an Imperial cadet and the Sith Apprentice of a Dark Councillor. That journey had proven to be quite difficult, as she had to navigate her way through the bowels of the Sith Empire without being detected. On top of the patrols and Star Destroyers which lined the Empire's territory there was also competing with the Stygian Caldera, an infamous nebulae that had been responsible for the destruction of multiple ships across the millennia as Alicia traveled en route to Korriban, where the meeting had taken place.
In comparison, a straight stretch from one Star System to another was easier, though traveling this far out was still a long and taxing journey. In her wake she had left Snagg to oversee her arrangements on Chandrila whilst she was gone, and had taken the time to meditate on the Force. In these moments of meditation she could feel and hear the screams which permeated the Force. It would seem that the Dread Master that she had learned of on Naboo had made his move, launching his attack upon the Galaxy. That would mean that her enemies would be distracted for this brief moment in which to make her move. To set up her roots on this world that was so far away, and yet an important staging ground for the Grand Plan. It would all hinge on this first meeting with Cuveth Xan.
Alicia did not know about the man. Reaching out on behalf of Chandrila Group (the corporation that Alicia was the CEO and Founder of) to discuss trade rights with the Union had been surprisingly accepted. This was a world that had a wide variety of technology, weapons, defense systems and other items of interest that could prove useful to Alicia in the short-term. But it was the long-term implications- such as a staging ground to expand her influence in Empire- which carried most of her interest. Such an arrangement would take time, money and a considerable amount of patience.
Since the rise of the Union the Headquarters for Sienar Technologies had been redeveloped into a diplomatic area for meetings such as this. Walking through the main entrance and into the atrium, Alicia registered herself at the front desk to announce her arrival for the scheduled appointment, and waited in the lounge area until someone came for her.
