The Jedi carrier ship cruised above the desolate sands of Tatooine. This was an important growth mission for the Padawans of the Jedi Order. It had seemed during a deadly Tatooine drought, when water supplies were low, vulnerable villagers were taken advantage of by Pirates of the Tatooine dunes. These disgraceful fiends had stole their entire water supply, leaving them out for dehydration to take their life. A total of four Padawans were along for this mission, with a master overlooking them to make it five. This master who would accompany them was named Gnoll , a strong member of the Jedi Order. Ryu looked down upon the endless sands, awaiting for their journey to end. Thoughts clouded his mind consistently of gaining power and death, things he knew he mustn't try to resolve or go looking for answers in. The young Padawan wanted strength, it is all he could conclude that would succeed him through the Jedi ranks. He stood above his other Padawans at his age, it was evident he wanted this strength from his fighting style alone being brute like. Through his years of training within the Jedi Order, Ryu Jotaro had created a name for himself through his sheer rage when in combat, the reasoning behind his lack of sparring with any other Padawan his own age. Confidence had pent up within him for years because of this, and he truly believed he was the strongest whenever he was around. However this wasn't the truth, power was possessed by other force users far exceeded him, to limits that would burn his mind with jealousy. The other Padawans spoke among themselves, laughing as they approached the site of the Pirates, they were still young, a few years younger than Ryu, so this is understandable. But their voices ingrained into his mind, angering him as he closed his eyes, forrowing his blonde brow. "Close your damn mouth" Ryu spoke with a gritty undertone as he shifted his head to the side, glaring at the Padawans from the outermost corner of his yellow tinged iris. His glare ensued some shock into the other Padawans, causing Ryu to turn his head away, a smirk on his face due to their reaction. He sneered out of boastfulness to himself, knowing his action may not be received well by the Master within the cruiser, but the Padawan cared not. His actions were rash and out of spite for others, but he did not care for how they felt for his cruel actions.

Gnoll sat calmly, his robe covering almost his entire body, including the six white bladed sabers, except his red eyes that seemed to glow beneath it as he watched the Padawans. He felt something that shouldn't be there, but the innocence of most of them made him happy. They were young, they were still so good. Not like him, he'd been tainted by the darkness. Perhaps almost permanently. A scar on his soul that would never quite heal, even as kind as he was now. However, as they grew closer, Gnoll felt the suffering of the people there. The people on Tatooine, robbed of even their water. He shoved the darkness down, the desire to tear the pirates apart as he knew he could. Even if it came from a heart of kindness now, it was a danger to let something like that grow without restraint. And now was not the time for anger. However, while Gnoll suppressed it, he heard the anger of one of them growing in anger until he cursed at them for their childish talking. Gnoll very slowly stood up feeling the sadness they felt from the insult, "It's ok." he said patting one of them on the shoulder before he sat down near Ryu in order to appear less intimidating, though, in thought, it was possible intimidation was necessary. "You mustn't bark at them like that. A lack of will power will lead only to pain and anger." he said, though very deep and somewhat rumbly, his voice sounded rather soothing and knowing. Gnoll would not speak of it as the Jedi code. Of course he should know it's against it, but if he chose to do it in spite of the code, then he needed to see another reason why. Some people who were angry, or bullies, needed to be shown that their outrage, their attempts at controlling others or belittling them, was the real weakness. And that it would lead them to hurting themselves as much as it would others. He stood up and looked to the exit, "We shall be there soon, I want you all to decide what actions you will take. I will try to guide you, but from a distance. Remember, you are here to see if you can handle a real situation a Jedi will face. I'm only here to make sure neither you, nor the villagers, get killed. And, that you don't over do your actions."That last comment he would have made anyway, but with Ryu present, he felt it was extra necessary. The pride, the desire for power, the anger, he felt all these things among the boy. And while Gnoll knew how powerful being brutish could be, he also knew where it could lead. Ryu Jotaro,

Ryu rolled his eyes, releasing a sigh as Gnoll spoke to him. Jotaro cared not of what his master thought, nor the consequences of his vulgar speech earlier. Typically, a member of his race would break out in a sweat, but due to his intense training for a majority of his life, the heat didn't even effect him. He sneered to his master, Ryu's strength was formidable, especially for a Padawan of his age, but he allowed it to go to his own head. Because of his prior success, the egotistical Jedi Padawan presumes nearly everyone is beneath him. But he wasn't completely stupid, he understood the power to his master Gnoll far exceeded his own, but he didn't want that to last for long. "Don't talk down to me, old man. The runts deserved it anyway..."Ryu stared down his master, not breaking from eye contact, indeed Gnoll's form was threatening, but Ryu shrugged it off. He would not take intimidation lightly, especially considering who it is. A large town crept into the corner of his eye, as he spat to the side of him out of the ship carrier open doors. Succeeding this by turning his head to the side, looking down upon the small village as the Jedi cruiser began to land. "I am apart of the Jedi Order, I shouldn't have to help dirty villagers in this ugly planet"
The only thing that grabbed his attention was the opportunity to kill, that's all Ryu's mind focused on at this time, power and killing. When given the opportunity, the Padawans morals have come into question numerous times, his slaughtering of enemies never went unnoticed within the Order. Jotaro acted like a brute mercenary in these missions given to him, slashing through all enemies in site without a second thought. Ryu dropped back as the ship landed, allowing the others to exit as he lent his back on the wall, giving a dark stare to each one that passed him on exit of the carrier.

Gnoll kept his gaze locked with Ryu's not responding to the rather disrespectful comment that was returned, he was thinking, saddened by his failure to teach the kid humility. At least, it felt like a failure. Eventually Ryu's attention was brought to the village they were soon approaching. Gnoll stood up and stepped out as they landed, watching as each Padawan left the ship. But Ryu's second comment would not go without a response. Disrespecting Gnoll was one thing, he had felt that time and again, but when it came to a matter of morality, now, as a Jedi, Gnoll would not let it slide. Not for his Padawan. As the last Padawan left but Ryu he stepped forwards, "If you cannot even help a villager here, then what good would you be to the Jedi?" he asked, but before any response could come he would speak again, "You are too distracted by the power you think you have, the power you think you can gain. I want you to think on what you want to do with your life. And if that's something you should do with it. I have seen the darkside first hand and you are drifting very close to it. Don't answer it. For it holds no real joy for you." he said before walking away to speak to all the padawans before they went to speak to the villagers. "As you should know, this is your mission, not mine. I want you all to speak to the villagers, and then decide on your course of action. Whatever you do, you will decide as a group. And you will act as a group, that is not to say you must be physically together, but the plan must belong to all of you. I am here to only make sure things do not go to wrong. Ask for guidance if you like, I shall answer as I choose." he said before stepping to the side, gesturing for them to go in to speak to the villagers. Ryu Jotaro,

Ryu sneered in the face of his master, no Padawan had the gall to do such an act, but he did. Ryu looked down, his masters lectured didn't bother him in the slightest. His words of wisdom would enter within one ear and out the next, due to Ryu's utter disregard of near everyone. The sun beat down, making mad blood boil, as he squinted. Jotaro awaited his master to finish whatever he was saying before giving an insignificant grunt, before pushing past him. Regularly, if a Padawan of his age showed the skill he presented, but lacked the anger and power-thirst that Ryu showed, they would have become a Knight of the Order in an instant. He knew the Order held him back for his anger and sheer want of strength within the force and combat. With this, he marched on by over sand as the Padawans followed, as if subservient to Ryu. He glanced behind him looking only to the Padawans as his blonde unkempt hair covered an eye. "You will follow me, I will lead the charge on the lowlife bastards. Do you understand me?"Ryu spat, as if with some vindictiveness lingering on his voice, aimed towards these other Padawans. He stared one down who looked as if he was going to start to speak, signalling for him to be silent under Ryu's command. With this he turned, walking through to the village where began learning of the pirates who stole the water during this drought. Ryu cared not of these people, commonly being rude and insensitive when speaking to them. Eventually, Jotaro has learnt of their position from a man who wasn't afraid to speak out against the pirates as the rest fell silent, to Ryu's dismay. He smirked to himself, walking to the land speeder bay of the town, jumping into the first one he saw. Completely disregarding whoever speeder it was, and his Jedi accomplice. Rage within him was pent up and aimed to be released, he planned on doing this by destroying the pirates of Tatooine. The Padawan navigated rocks and bones of large creatures, navigating the sandy plains as he approached on the base of the pirates in question. He looked down to his saber, a weapon he had spent years honing his own abilities on and killing so many with. But his thirst was never quenched, he always wanted to fight, no matter what, Ryu desired death and he thought it desired him the same. This is why duelling became a game to him, a game of life and death where either was easily granted by the swing of a lightsaber. Gnoll

Gnoll narrowed his eyes at the Padawan. Considering just what to do about this. He needed to see what happens when you're too proud and hot headed. Still, he remained silent. But he couldn't allow his tendency for patience occur too much. This was a human, he didn't have a century or so to work his way through to him. He had to move more quickly. He kept watching as they spoke to the villagers, he felt bad for them, having to deal with that. But it was supposed to be a learning lessen for them. So he didn't intervene. Eventually came their time to find the pirates, but rather then formulating a plan of attack, Jotaro commanded them to just follow him. Not only did he not have the authority to do that, it seemed like a poor decision. But they followed anyway, they were younger, less aware. While Ryu went to the speeder bay and hopped on one, the others hesitated, they knew they didn't belong to them, one looked to Gnoll who gestured to watch as he turned to some of the villagers, quickly ensuring payment of them and quickly saying, "That is one of the options. I did this as we may need to hurry." he said, already Ryu had really gotten far. Gnoll had had to get a bit of a larger land speeder in order to carry him as the came after Ryu, even though they were a bit behind him he could sense Ryu's aggressions nd preparation for battle. While the others tended towards fear or hesitation more, Ryu was ready to go. Just not in the right way. He moved faster, splitting off from the grip just a bit in order to keep as close to as many of them as possible. The Pirates would no doubt see them coming, and with Ryu so far ahead, he would be the first target as they started setting up defenses and firing. They were just pirates, so basic weaponry, ships and equipment, but a blaster bolt was a blaster bolt. They didn't discriminate from Ryu or his bike, at the distance they would be at so far it'd be too much work to try and differentiate anyway. If they hit him, great, if the hit the bike, also great. Of course, they didn't think it was a big issue. They had no idea what they were facing yet. Just some guy on a speeder, no clue of just who this Padawan was. They'd soon catch sight of the follow Padawans as well. But their attention would remain on Ryu for now, as he clearly had to be the spearhead of this attack. In secret, strange as it was, Gnoll actually wanted there to be failure on Ryu's part. The kid needed to learn that he could lose. If Gnoll had to influence things to make that happen, he would. He had to think how Sith apprentices were so much easier to train then Padawans. You could beat an apprentice into submission. But as a Jedi, that was not the kind way. He did however start thinking of a possibility, offer to treat the boy as an apprentice instead of a Padawan. Teach him jedi techniques and such, but do it with the teaching methods of a sith. He wondered if that would convince him that his brutal ways were not truly where he needed to be. Ryu Jotaro,

The Padawan had arrived to his destination. His presence was realised by the Pirates as they took aim. Blaster bolts were barraged towards him and his speeder, a few hitting his speeder, as Ryu dismounts with a force jump forward. With a front flip in the air, blaster fire zooming past him, with this grabbing his lightsaber hilt, highlighted with red metallic parts. Hastily, he extended his blue blade from the hilt, landing simultaneously, as every blaster bolt within his direction was pinged back by the blue blade. Ryu progressed across to the camp, the blaster fire from the pirates being fired toward them after rebounding from his blue saber. Ryu had taken down next to three of them as he actually entered within the camp, seeing dense ranks of them, causing his eyes to light up. He swung his lightsaber with staggering speed, cutting through the hands of one pirate to his left before Ryu drew back and plunged the saber through his chest. In a swift movement, he pulled his saber up, splitting the top half of the pirate in two, before spinning back around with extreme speed, deflecting more bolts into other pirates. However, the ranks of the pirates remained strong in forces. Ryu's anger ensued within him, his irises being overtaken with the yellow tinge, swallowing up the green within. He deflected fire with his left hand, as he choked the life of another pirate to the right with the force. He felt the windpipe of the man get crushed within his palm, dropping him to the floor as if he was nothing. Ryu's pace allowed him to run to the right. A smaller band of pirates were stationed there, and blaster fire from the other soldiers could not hit him behind the structures of the camp itself. His wrist spun, his aggressive saber type tore through the pirates. He cut one at the thigh, splitting through the two legs of him allowing the legless body to fall to the ground. With haste, Jotaro rolled to the right, two swipes to the left and right, destroying the chests of two more pirates. With the final pirate within the small band, Ryu marched towards him, darkness within his mind. The pirate fired towards him, as Jotaro, with ease, hit the blaster fire away whilst heading towards him. Before long the pirate was backed into a corner, allowing Ryu to thrust his saber though his stomach. The blue blade split through his gut, before his lifeless corpse dropped off of it. Ryu's eyes twitched, turning behind him to look for more pirates to add to his killings. Gnoll

As Ryu would fight, one of them would start throwing grenades at him from a distance. Not anything nearly as powerful as a thermal detonator, but still enough to be a threat. Most of them were focused on him now after having taken so many on. It was clear some were already considering surrender. A few had even started backing off or dropping their weapons. Gnoll let out a low groan as he saw Ryu slaughter so ruthlessly, they had fired first, so he might not stop the boy. But it was still not the most...correct way. As the new padawans came up they stood confused for a moment before they were attacked by those who were not totally distracted by the Jedi running among them causing havoc. Gnoll himself however avoided most of the fighting, it was up to them to prove themselves. With almost all the attention on Ryu the other padawans were having a much easier time then would have been intended for a mission like this normally. They weren't going to learn much at this rate, he would have to schedule another mission for them all. Or rather, all but Ryu. It seemed, he needed something else clearly. He'd have to try and think of what. But there was another problem, he could feel the anger fueling his Padawan. That would have to be corrected. He reached out with the force, reaching towards his padawans mind, "Get too angry, and I will remove you from this mission entirely." would be the voice he would project towards him. Ryu Jotaro,

Ryu weaved in-between blaster fire, left and right with quick succession. The inclusion of grenades began to pose a threat to the Padawan, but the increased stakes helped him perform with increased precision. His power surged, as he threw pirates around him onto the grenades to take the majority of the blast. It blew their carcasses to nothing but body parts whilst he smirked, pleasure being taken from his actions against the pirates. With no time to waste, he extended his saber once more, a force jump over the heads of another band of pirate troops as Ryu knelt. His blue blade was swiped across, splitting through the chests of two of the pirates. Not before long, Ryu clenched his fist, choking the life from one of the men as he fell to his knees, the mans throat shutting off from all air within seconds. Whilst doing this, he takes his saber with his other hand, standing to his feet to kick to the side one pirate. Jotaro, with a quick movement stabbed downwards into the pirate who had fell due to his kick. By the time the man under Jotaro's force choke was dead, the other had a whole through his heart from the blue Jedi blade. Ryu stood still, staring to the rest of the Pirate ranks as he twirled his blue lightsaber. With this, his masters voice came into his head, the thought of calming down or coming off this mission angered the Padawan intensely. But he could not show it, if Ryu presented his anger further he would lose this chance, and hence lose his chance of becoming a Jedi Knight. "I understand... My master"His voice filled with reluction, subservience wasn't something that Ryu could easily accept. Even from a young age, he resented his father as a power figure over him and because of this, Ryu killed him in cold blood. Of course, Jotaro could never do this against the Jedi Order, at least not on such a scale anyway. After this, the Padawan took his stance of Form V, holding his saber in an aggressive stance to face the remaining Pirates. Ryu attempted to control his breathing, not allowing his master to sense the anger within him to any degree. The battlefield went silent, the only noise from the whirring of his blade, as the two sides stared each other down. Gnoll

He was still aggressive, but at the very least he was acting a bit less aggressive. That was good enough for now. Even if a Jedi felt anger anger, they needed to control it. It was more important to act calm then to be calm. So Gnoll would not intervene right now, not at least for Ryu, he paid extra attention to the others. Those who were not yet as skilled or powerful in combat, trying to keep up. He was making sure that things wouldn't go too far for them, didn't want any of them to get hurt. Gnoll's control over his Padawan only went so far, he was very much unlike the Neti in all ways but one, the desire for power and tendency towards it in the dark side. The pirates numbers had dwindled, very quickly, by the hands of the other padawans as well but most notable by Ryu. The Pirates could see this, they weren't soldiers, they weren't any kind of warrior. They were here because it was profitable. But nothing was profitable if you were carved in half. Many of them would start to drop their weapons and hand them over now, but a few refused to accept defeat. Perhaps it was more out of fear then some warrior spirit, a moment of utter panic, blasting away quickly while running towards him to try and get past Ryu thinking maybe if they could get through freedom would be theirs. The Pirates dwindled to low numbers, most dropped their weapons, but a small band continued to fight against the Padawans. Ryu shook his head disapprovingly, taking his two hands as he held them towards the small knot of Pirates. With malicious intent, he squeezed his hand, crushing the windpipes of the remaining bandits as the life drained from them. As the life force was squeezed from the pirates by Ryu, he dropped their corpses into the sand with a thud which echoed through the sandy planes. Ryu glanced to his right, the remaining pirates surrendering in quick speed. Jotaro's mind flooded with thoughts, he saw them as pathetic weaklings who were in need to be cleansed. The other Padawans began walking to the moisture stations, claiming the water that once belonged to the village. Ryu gave an evil stare to Master Gnoll, his master who sometimes he had resented entirely. His master wouldn't allow him to unleash his full capability and let his anger flow. Evidently it was against the Jedi's standings to allow passion and anger to control a Jedi's motivation, but it infuriated Ryu nonetheless. Ryu stepped over sand and corpses, both scattered throughout the camp significantly. The Pirates were weak, lowest of the low scoundrels attempting to steal from the innocent. But Ryu did not resent him for that, he resented them instead for being so weak and insignificant to him. As he looked to the Pirates, he gestured them to get on the floor. Most did, some bands disconnected however did not receive what he signalled. Ryu's rage was building once more, his continuous swings of anger pushed the boy to his limits, it allowed him to achieve his potential but drove away all sanity from his husk. The Padawan cautiously walked around the pirates on their knees in surrender as he eyed them individually, thoughts swarming his mind of each of them. One of the scum particularly caught his eye, a fat older dishevelled man who was no older than 60. A full belly of food whilst children starved in the next village over. Usually, he cared not of anyone else, but the appearance of the man alone set Ryu into a rage. With haste, the Padawan ignited his blue saber once again, drawing the blade as he swung it to the neck of the Pirate. His head came clean off with little resistance, both falling to the sand with an eerie sound. Gnoll

Gnoll breathed in leaning back his head as he sensed the malice in Ryu when he crushed their windpipes. That was not how a Jedi should act. Still, he remained where he was. This was still something that just for now could be tolerated. He returned a stern gaze when his Padawan gave him an evil stare. He began to become suspicious. But he was unsure yet of Ryu's intentions and did not want to interfere due to the test that this was meant to be, it would only be over when everyone was back on board the jedi cruiser. Even his ordering of the pirates to their knees was acceptable in the situation. That was, until his blade came out while among the pirates who had surrendered, rage in his heart as he struck one down. Gnoll himself felt an emotion then, a feeling of anger against such an injustice, he moved with the speed of the force that he'd mastered over so man years to bring him closer to the Padawan as a massive arm flung itself up from beneath his robes to strike the young Jedi's side with a backhand, he knew full well just how painful that could be for some but that kill was inexcusable and completely unacceptable to Gnoll. They were Jedi for goodness sakes and while he was a very patient man there was a point you did not cross and that was one of them. "How DARE you." Gnolls deep voice boomed, "Who do you think you are? What weakness is within you that you so carelessly would kill? I have seen people with more honor in success among even the most barbaric of race!" He could not understand completely what could bring a person to such an action, Gnoll's instincts were always for end goals. Over time. Things like this, such impromptu methods of cruelty. They felt so wrong, they were against everything he knew now. Ryu Jotaro,

Ryu thudded to the sand, the air exiting his lungs, as the coarse substance covered his robes. He began to cough vigorously, the force of the impact on anyone weaker could've well knocked them out of even worse. The Padawans ears rang loudly, as he gasped for mouthfuls of air with quick succession whilst trying to sit up. The pain infuriated Ryu, but he was helpless within this situation, by the Jedi's rules he had done wrong. The worst Master to do wrong in-front of, was undoubtedly Gnoll due to his willingness to strike. Jotaro got to one knee eventually, his head facing the sand as he spat whilst wheezing. His throat burnt as he stood back to his feet, his ears swelled from the ringing prior to him standing. Ryu had no words for his master, no matter his response he knew it would get him into something worse than it already had. Jotaro stood in a slump, his blonde strands of hair covered his eyes whilst the Padawan shuffled through the sand and bodies to reach his lightsaber hilt. He gave a breath, bending over slightly to reach his hilt which had dug into the sand from his impact to the ground. Ryu tapped it and shook the metal, attempting to drain it from all grains of the sand which resided within the metal housing of the lightsaber. To Ryu, he was only acting out what was right, he was ridding this planet from scum who had decided to steal from those who couldn't defend themselves. Resentment for Gnoll filled Jotaro because of this, finally he had done something right and his master had rewarded him with loss of breath. The Padawan hooked his saber hilt back to his belt, looking to the lined up Pirates as he slowly walked back to the band of Padawans. Each pirate prisoner sat on their knees, hands behind their backs as their weapons were scattered across and unkempt pile which dug into the sand. Whilst Ryu walked to the other Padawans, he gave a slight swipe of his fingers. A pirate face planted into the sand whilst the Padawan walked over him with a smile to himself. He had to entertain himself somehow, after all, even after the humiliation granted to him by Master Gnoll.

There was shock on many faces and utter silence. For those who had witnessed the beheading, it was much from fear, or seeing a Padawan commit such an act. For those who had not, it was the fact a Jedi Master had just struck a Padawan, even of that age, with that much force. All eyes were on one or the other. As Gnoll went to stand with the other Padawans Gnoll shook his head, gesturing for the Padawan to come to him while walking up to him. Whether or not Ryu actually came forwards, Gnoll would approach and hold out a hand, "Give me your weapon." it was said in a very clear tone, anyone paying attention could hear, and Gnoll knew it, "Until you have proven to me you can control yourself you shall not wield one again, unless there is a dire situation, you will not handle a real blade or weapon. You will not be allowed to be in any combat situation where you cannot be controlled, you will be watched at almost all times even if only by a droid, which will report back to me. This is more then some attitude change, this is cruel, and wrong. And until we know you can be trusted, you will never become a Knight. That is, if you don't end up in a cell." Gnoll knew this could anger the Padawan, he didn't care. Perhaps it was necessary to anger him to prove it would do him no good. He hoped that perhaps since putting him in battle hadn't helped, doing the reverse might. Even if he was allowed in combat situations, he didn't want to ever give him the chance of pulling something like that again. Not as long as he was in charge. Ryu Jotaro,

The Padawan was in no real mood for this. The words from his Master lit a spark within him, anger built up quicker than he could've imagined. But he was in no situation to fight back or argue, yet his absolute gall would push Ryu to do so. Jotaro held his hand out, removing the saber hilt from his belt in a swift movement. Without another second, Ryu would thrust his hand forward out of spite. This would send his metal hilt hurtling towards Gnoll at an astronomical speed. He clenched his fist after, looking around to the rest of the pirates who watched on in shock. Ryu, at this point did not care for his saber, he did not require it to kill, but it made it easier for him. He could feel the glancing eyes from all the other Padawans, undoubtedly judging him. Jotaro turned his head, piercing his eyes through the younger Padawans with a death stare, his resentment for the others proceeded him indefinitely. Not before long, he pivoted his body to face Gnoll, his master once again. His words had burrowed under Ryu's skin, irritating him even then to an unbridled rage. The Jedi Padawan stepped over sans, his boots digging into the substance with each step, eventually stopping when there was no more than a meter between them. Ryu's voice sounded rage felt and desperate as he began to speak, his true feelings revealing themselves, finally. "Cruel? You are a true hypocrite then, Jedi history is built off of murder and foul lies"Ryu raised his voice, it echoed throughout the sandy plains. He scowled deeply to his master, not long later turning once more to head towards the pirates. The water had be collected, but it no longer made sense to Ryu to keep them alive. They were a tumour on society, Jotaro knew for certain that the scum would do this again. Unless they arrested these pirates, in which they would just cram Republic prisons and take up resources, which is unneeded. It made Ryu feel sick to think vermin could live within prisons for the rest of their natural life, whilst families starved on the streets. He spat once again, staring intently to the last lined up pirates which remained within their ranks. Gnoll
