Anija grew up on Corellia, and was found by a Mandalorian at the age of 10. He saved her from CorSec by lying and saying she was his daughter. Once they'd reached his ship, he offered her the chance to go with him.

Keldabe is attacked by DeathWatch, who set off a nuclear bomb. While on her way to assist, Anija is stopped by Gavin Ovmar, a member of Death Watch who knows Ordo, and decides to take out his anger on Ordo's daughter instead. Anija tries to fight him off, but in the end, his superior strength and skill win out. She is left unconscious and stripped of her armor, save for one piece, which is found by Arrbi Betna before he finds her.
