• Description:
The Republic Soldiers/Infantry are the most basic of the clone army created. Their training, programming, and design tend to stay all very much the same with being averagely skilled soldiers in a variety of fields but usually not venturing much outside of that, in order to keep them efficient in what they know. In order to avoid filling their minds with useless knowledge, Infantry are almost exclusively trained for combat and teamwork skills, with little experience if it came to money spending or farming excluding only when this is necessary for their job. There is some variety between one Soldier to the next, most ending up with names or nicknames after just a few months, as well as a tendency towards one style or another though these are still usually within the realm of Infantry as those who show particular skill are filtered into higher or more unique positions.
The average Republic Soldier has skill involving blasters, vehicular combat/driving, teamwork, unarmed combat, use of a dagger or empty blaster, grenades/explosives, heavy weaponry, and basic strategy. Infantry are almost always accompanied by Medics and Officers.
The Soldiers are often known for having an extraordinary lack of fear for their own lives when fighting, but may fear for allies, and have shown that they can be very aggressive during combat.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
• Unit Size: Large: Approximately 20 billion.
• Unit Availability: Common
• Unit Experience: Trained
• Combat Function:
The Republic Soldiers serve to be the main force of land or sea-based invasion or defensive force. They are trained in a variety of tactics, maximizing their terrain and cover, and to work in united teams, passing quick instructions from one another to keep everyone updated on their jobs. They would be the ones to control vehicles, serve as snipers, grenadiers, and most land-based positions that occur in large quantities. They are often assisted by Medics and guided more specifically by Officers on their exact objectives and strategies they’ll be using.
The Republic Soldiers are usually the ones who may need support since they serve as the main force, they may require assistance from pilots or special forces for specific objectives that they can’t manage to get past.
However they can serve as support under certain circumstances, such as if a pilot needs a place to land but has to many enemies in the location they need to land in, the Infantry can assist in clearing it out.
Strengths:
-Good armor and weaponry.
-Semi-broad set of skills
-Well trained/programmed
-Rarely fear for themselves
-Good at following orders of their superiors
-Excellent marksman]
Weaknesses:
-Human based clones are well rounded, but require better equipment if facing certain worlds.
-May show to many submissions to superiors unless they can see the error in it clearly (attacking innocents or seeming allies for instance)
-Do not have many melee weapons
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Republic Infantry was created not long after the Galactic Republic was reformed, a new clone army. They were the base units formed off of a few individuals deemed fit, skilled, and intelligent enough, to form a good force with. The Infantry are made on Kamino cloning facilities but are transported to their new positions when called for. They are still relatively new to war itself, but their training and programming assist in their experience considerably.
While typically considered fearless, the Infantry do have a tendency towards despair after defeat against an enemy, this mostly only occurs when the enemy has seemed to be barely harmed by their attempts. They can be easily riled up, but repeated defeat or failure can be extremely devastating.
Many of them see little difference between the monotone position of guarding somewhere that’ll never be attacked, and going to war, with mostly just a recognition of their being a difference, particularly in skill.
