Hanna City - Capital:
The capital of Chandrila is an urban metropolis in the modern day. It is filled with skyscrapers, buildings and businesses which focus on either high tech retail, or food (restaurants, fast food etc.) It's populace are savvy high tech savvy and it's culture revolves around technology. Everything, from sophisticated high-grade speeders and vehicles through to the modern day datapad are sought and paid for by it's civilian populace. Long lines of transports and vehicles fill the air whilst at city level civilians can be seen walking and going about their day. Flashing neon lights from advertisement boards line the walls and windows of it's skyscrapers, towers and flats. Fountains, squares and regional parks dot the city for escapism and quiet from the busy life lived in the city. One such square overlooks the coast of the Silver Sea, which stretches and spreads out for all the eye to see. A Spaceport in the center of the city regulates most of the traffic coming in or out of the planet, where the majority of it's imports and exports are delivered or sent out for delivery to neighboring star systems. This Spaceport is big enough to accommodate interplanetary ships up to the size of a Star Destroyer, though it should be noted that it is only big enough to accommodate one ship of this size.
Emita - Small Town:
The small town of Emita is located on the same continent as Hanna City. Most of it's populace work in capital, and return here for the quiet and peaceful life. Rent and accommodation here is also cheaper in comparison to the city. Emita also has a keen and vibrant culture for agriculture, and farming. It is here that most of the cities foodstuffs are collected and distributed into the city to be sold to neighboring star systems, or businesses that are housed planet-side in the city. Due to it's proximity to the Silver Sea inhabitants are known for fishing, making it a fishing town. Buildings and houses here are small in comparison to the city, with some still made of brick and stone stretching back to millennia. These are maintained and kept for cultural reasons, so that despite the Chandrilan obsession with technology, they never forget their roots. It is surrounded by farm land, where crops and cattle are raised to be delivered into the capital, or for neighboring star systems. A regional spaceport is located on the outskirts of the city, which has a road that leads into it's main village square. This is used as a off-point for ships and transports to deliver crop and cattle into Hanna City, but can also be used to accommodate interplanetary ships up to small Bulk Cruisers.
Nayli - Small Coastal Town:
Nayli is a small coastal town, and can be classified as a metropolis due to it's architecture, and it's populace. Despite being slightly larger than Emita (the only other town on the planet) it retains it's agricultural and farmer roots. It is found on the other side of the Silver Sea, on another continent to the West of Hanna City, the planet's main capital city. It has a vibrant fishing scene, with many fishing cruisers and ships found in it's harbors. It is surrounded by farm land, where crops and cattle are raised to be sold and delivered into the capital, or for neighboring star systems. It's spaceport is found in the center of the village, and is larger than it's counterpart in Emita, with room enough for Bulk Cruisers to land and collect resources for distribution. It is the hometown for Alicia Drey, and where Chandrila Group was founded in 896 ABY, though this corporation's headquarters are found in the capital.
POPULATION
* Native Species: Humans (90%)
* Immigrated Species: Various Species (10%)
* Population: Moderate.
* Demographics: It is a primarily Human world, though various other types of species live and immigrate here. The planet experiences small levels of xenophobia, but could not be classified as as xenophobic society.
* Primary Languages: Galactic Basic, Chandrilese.
* Culture: It is obsessed with high tech grade technology ranging from vehicles to hand-held devices. It has no religious sects or beliefs, though most hold belief in the Force. Outside of Hanna City the populace is less obsessed with technology, instead holding root to it's agricultural and farming heritage. However, with Hanna City housing most of the population, it's obsession with technology outweighs those who maintain their agricultural past. There is a distinct difference in the way that people talk, dress and act between it's urban metropolis in the capital to it's more rural areas. A minor wave narcotics in Hanna City has seen some Chandrilese become drug addicts, and minor criminals.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
* Government: Democractic Assembly.
* Affiliation: None at this time.
* Wealth: High. It is the hub of agriculture and the supply of foodstuffs in the Core region. Other Star systems are heavily reliant on it's ability to supply crops and cattle.
* Stability: Highly stable. It is a peaceful society. There are some elements of crime (as there is with any planet with a metropolis) but it retains relatively low forms of criminal activity. It is a location for holiday makers, and is accepting to outside races, and cultures.
* Freedom & Oppression: The Chandrilese enjoy many freedoms and rights given to them by their culture, and government. However, it has a heavily reliance on commerce, with many interplanetary ships from the size of Bulk Cruisers coming and going from the planet to collect foodstuffs to deliver to neighboring systems. It is a relaxed and open society despite the heavy traffic which passes through the system. A minor wave of drug related crime is becoming a problem in Hanna City, but other settlements remain unaffected.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
* Military: It has little military assets apart from a peacekeeping force, which patrols Hanna City, Emita and Nayli (POLICE). It is reliant on neighboring systems for protection from outside incursions, enjoying the protections of being located in the Core region.
* Technology: Highly sophisticated, high-grade technology is found on this planet.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Chandrila was originally one of the founding worlds of the Galactic Republic in 25,000 BBY. For 25,000 years it enjoyed peace and prosperity, never experiencing ecological disasters or war until it was conquered by the Brotherhood of Darkness during the New Sith Wars. Later, it would again remain loyal to the Republic during the advent of the Clone Wars, and fell under the jurisdiction of the First Galactic Empire following the re-organization of the Galactic Republic. It was the homeworld of the legendary Mon Mothma, who led the Rebel Alliance into overthrowing the Galactic Empire and reconstituting the then New Republic out of the remnants of the Empire. For 900 hundred years it would no impact on the Galaxy, though it would still retain it's harmony with nature, and the Chandrilese would still find work as negotiators, diplomats or artists as they retained their keenness for debate, and political intrigue despite the part it had played in overthrowing Palpatine.
Almost a millennia later Hanna City has grown into an urban metropolis, with daunting skyscrapers and architecture to rival the Coruscanti. Laws which had previously prevented the capture or murder of the native Squalls population had been abandoned in favor of economical and societal growth, resulting in a change in culture and society in comparison to what it was like nine centuries ago. Despite this change, with the Chandrilese- who live in the capital- abandoning the natural harmony and grass roots which had served them for so long, those who live in more rural areas- such as Emita, or Nayli- still retain their ancestral roots. Changes in Hanna City can be associated to the rise in technological obsession, and the Devastator Wars, which saw a record high number of immigrants immigrating to Chandrila in the 890s, with many fleeing war or persecution.
It is also the homeworld of Alicia Drey, the founder of Chandrila Group, who was born in Nayli and a secretive Sith Lord, who believes in the Rule of Two. It was here, on this unassuming world, that she planted the seeds to the Grand Plan after almost a millennia of plotting, building and conniving in secrecy by a generation of Sith Lords who lived on and carried the philosophy of the Rule of Two following the destruction of the Second Death Star, where it's original progenitors were thought to have died. In 896 ABY the corporation Chandrila Group was founded by Alicia Drey and farmers who lived out in Nayli, who sold their land, crop and cattle to Alicia to join her start-up in exchange for shares in the company. Over the past few years Chandrila Group has become responsible for the distribution and sale of foodstuffs across Chandrila, with some of it's produce even reaching neighboring systems in the Core, of which Chandrila is responsible for supply the majority of foodstuffs across the Bormea sector.
Through Chandrila Group Alicia begun money laundering credits through the shady underworld business that she begun constructing years before the founding of her company. Narcotics, weapons and other forms of paraphernalia- most notably illicit Sith items, such as her Lightsaber and personalized protocol unit- are smuggled through custom checks through a small but extensive clandestine organization that serves her. This organization has no name, and it's members are compartmentalized, resulting in little to no idea of each other, but most are found in high ranking positions across Chandrila, including spaceports and governmental offices. Through this organization Alicia has begun to facilitate a growing trend among the citizens of Hanna City through the sale and distribution of narcotics to wanting Chandrilese customers, resulting in a minor rise in drug related crimes.
