DESCRIPTION
Corellian Engineering Corporation may not be as big of a company as Kuat Drive Yards, but has built many types of ships, in particular which were received well by citizens. Or in many cases, smugglers. However they were also known for designs that had been used by the Rebel Alliance. In the present day Corellia remains a fairly well known ship builder for non military purposes, but does in fact still produce some for the Galactic Republic where needed. They don’t pay particularly much attention to who buys their products except when bought in large numbers or if by a known individual or enemy of the Republic
RATIONALE
Corellian Engineering Corporation does not belong to the Galactic Republic. But like many other companies that create starhips or higher grade weapons, does make large sales to them and is required to obey Republic laws. As a result the Republic government does hold a certain amount of influence. Since its payments to the company are no doubt important to them, and selling to enemies or selling products exclusive to the Republic Military would be considered rather unwise.
