SPECIAL FEATURES
-Reflection Emitter projection system: Attached to specific points on the gauntlet and shield are Reflection Shield emitters that create a shaped shield that generally extends beyond the physical gauntlet. This shield uses the same Reflection Emitter technology used on ships, designed to tear through any material it touches, and if it can’t rip it apart straight away, it throws it back with considerable force. Because it’s, in a way, a type of energy shield. It’s size is actually fairly alterable and can range from merely around the gauntlet/shield itself, to up to two meters in either direction of the emitter.
-Limiter: Because of the extreme power of the shield, there is an alterable limiter installed that can somewhat decrease it for the safety of the user if necessary. This is entirely optional and generally only done if a user is concerned about killing their opponent or themselves. It can reduce it to the point where the energy shield simply creates an immense outward force, but may not destroy things as easily, though most clothing and exposed skin might still be in considerable danger.
-Duraplast gauntlet. The gauntlet it is attached to has a reinforced duraplast exterior which allows it to be useful on it’s own. The gauntlet sizes range from simply remaining around the arm, to full sized physical shields, depending on the expected terrain. There is also the option of having an extender gauntlet, which can extend by a button for more physical cover (though somewhat weaker), but which then can be more easily maneuverable when not in use.
-The Gauntlet features three easily rechargeable energy pack that is generally around the length of the forearm and are half an inch thick, which can be swapped out quickly. Each battery can last around 30 minutes on its own. These are generally placed either on the inner part of the arm, or in the case of heavier shields, the inner part of the shield.
Strengths:
-Extreme resistance to physical weaponry, as they destroy most anything in their path, or toss it out of the way with force if it doesn’t go away almost immediately.
-Can be used offensively due to the emitter, as it functions almost like a contained multi-directional explosion.
-Duraplast armored gauntlet can take some variety of damage on it’s own, such as energy based weaponry which gets past the shield.
-Can have a larger physical shield of duraplast that can help defend against other attacks or if the batteries run out
-Safety limiter can lower it’s damage if necessary.
-Total average battery life of the shield is 1 hour and 30 minutes if all three batteries are used.
-Waterproofed
-Thanks to Duraplast, is very resistant to EMP and ION damage, preventing it from being shut down without running out or being broken.
Weaknesses:
-Emitter shield does almost NO protection against energy based weaponry.
-Shield can be very dangerous for inexperienced users, even more so than a lightsaber can be if extended far beyond the gauntlet itself.
-Bigger physical gauntlets may provide more protection in tandem with the emitter, but they also would then be heavier.
-Extender pieces provide less protection as they are typically thinner, and are kept in place by hinges and levers which are more easily broken.
DESCRIPTION
The R.E.G’s are not just a defensive weapon, but an offensive one. Designed to rip through or toss away matter because of the Emitter shielding, it is the worst threat to most close range combatants, as Vibro-blades, Electro-staffs, and other shields, are torn to shreds by them. And for the materials that are known for being extremely tough, it throws back with generall far more force then they came at it with, usually causing some damage when it does so. This effect is ever so much worse on flesh, as it tears right through most being leaving little left to find, allowing troopers to charge straight into their enemy. The Duraplast gauntlet and physical shield offers some additional protection to energy based weaponry, though this would be limited to the duraplast and not the emitter.
The Gauntlet’s biggest flaw is it’s weakness to energy based weaponry. As the Emitter offers almost zero protection to a user against other types of energy, and as a result, they have to rely on the Duraplast gauntlet if such weaponry comes into play.
