OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
• Intent: A special unit used by Garish Nevra ,
• Role: To defend or destroy for Garish Nevra
• Links: Nightsisters , Dathomir Collective , Rancor ,
Alchemy , Army of the Dead , Zenon
GENERAL INFORMATION
• Unit Name: Undead Rancors
• Affiliation: Garish Nevra ,
• Classification: Undead tanks
• Equipment: None
•
• Description: [If you thought a tauntaun smelled bad, consider a filthy creature over a dozen times its size that’s been functionally dead for long enough that rot has already set in. These creatures were hard enough to kill when they’re alive, but as resurrected through alchemy and magick, they are ever so much worse. Though they possess quite low intelligence, they obey commands spoken to them through mind-speech by Garish, or given targets or simple objectives, and will continue until completely destroyed or told otherwise by Garish.]
COMBAT INFORMATION:
• Unit Size: Small: Around 200
• Unit Availability: Uncommon
• Unit Experience: Rabble
• Combat Function:
Destroy a target, carry an object, or defend a spot, and that is about as far as their intelligence goes. They are essentially the melee version of a tank. They can draw fire and their stench and disease can pose an additional threat to the enemy.
Strengths:
*Actually fairly fast for something that isn’t supposed to have all of its muscles
*Immune to things like toxins, gasses, or any form of illness or disease. Does not require air so can actually be put in space without any protection to the lack of atmosphere
*Very high durability due to existing resistance to blaster fire and thick hide.
*Immense strength and size
*sharp claws and strong jaw
*Body holds together in spite of most damage done to it, won’t fully die unless considerably damaged.
*Some extra resistance to force powers
*Can be spoken to by telepathy by Garish easily
*Functionally immune to animal control or animal friendship by others
*The pure stench and rot can actually be used to cause disease and disorient enemies.
*Can take on a lot of terrains, and vehicles
*Ability to see in the dark easily
*Functionally feel no pain
Weaknesses:
*Extremely unintelligent, they can only do the most basic commands unless actively and clearly shown to do otherwise
*Disease and stench can be harmful for allies.
*Size can make them difficult to transport
*Almost useless in space unless they can be boarded onto a ship.
*Lessened senses (aside from vision) can make it difficult for them to always recognize threats by sound, or even small injuries.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created by Garish Nevra, with some guidance from the presumed Fanged God, the Undead Rancors are a combination of magickal necromancy and alchemy to create something fully obedient to Garish which can be controlled remotely and were extremely difficult to kill. Of course, the Rancors have their own disadvantages. Immense lack of intelligence and inability to operate pretty much anything. They are almost literally limited to, “Go this way” “Stay there” “Attack these things” “carry” “drop” “Kill anything that does this”.
As a result, they are absolutely awful without having Garish actively give them commands. Generally done from another location, using the force to view them and the field while giving them commands.
In order to create the Rancor's, Garish took or obtained the corpses of others, and brought them to The Fanged God. In addition to the magick of necromancy that Garish had studied so fervently learned from the Nightsisters and Zenon, the Fanged God taught him further on how to manipulate bodies for a new purpose. At first the process took time to create the beasts properly, but the more he preformed it, the faster he was able to obtain and create the creatures. The result was a much more dangerous group of creatures that resembled the Army of the Dead but was more powerful and remained actively alive unlike the Army, who required the chant of the undead to come to and remain alive.
