• Description: [ The Scouting Corps is considered generally a more difficult class of the Infantry, undergoing training for stealth for extended times or in movement, long term survival, and quick tactics, along with needing to have additional focus on agility based movement for quick position changing. Along with weapons training in particular fields of sniping and swift light operations. They are rarely seen in active combat as when real battles are being raged the Scouting Corps usually only serve positions as assassins or snipers. Additionally, the Scouting Corps requires at least one of each team to undergo considerable piloting training in order to make certain they can go on distant missions on their own. The Scouting Corps is generally considered to be the lesser version of the Elites, as while not as skilled, they are considered among the best due to having to go through more training and may come from Infantry if they’ve proven particular skill in the same areas.]
COMBAT INFORMATION:
• Unit Size: [Medium]
• Unit Availability: [Uncommon]
• Unit Experience: [Veteran]
• Combat Function: [
The Scouting Corps operate as a stealth and sniper force essentially, using their armor and tactics to remain absolutely hidden from their targets and watching them from different angles until they discover as many weaknesses as possible. Then getting this information back to the main forces, who they assist by operating as snipers during the battle to give them a good idea of the battle from a distance while picking off main targets. In times of need, the Scouting Corps can double as assassins and stealth operatives, getting into locations other forces might not be able to and taking out their targets or getting their intel swiftly, and then getting out.
Generally, the Scouting Corps don’t operate on their own except when conducting Reconnaissance or specific assassinations. Rather they work with main forces, as their low level armor and equipment is not equipped to handle full battles on their own.]
Strengths:
-Survival training.
-Enhanced recon and stealth training
-Sniper training
-High agility and speed training
-Multi-terrain stealth equipment
-Good variety of equipment.
-Excellent teamwork
-Excellent marksmen
-Pilot training
-Capable of reading lips of most humanoid species
-Excellent memory in order to carry information back properly
Weaknesses:
-Low armored, not meant for direct combat.
-Meant to work in teams, lone Scout operations are rare except for more elite members or desperate situations.
-Generally avoid close range conflict, as most of their training is in stealth, evasion, and marksmanship when it comes to fighting. They are good at close range but don’t have as much equipment to handle truly experienced and armed melee combatants.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Scouting Corps is a necessary part to the offensive Republic force. They serve as a way to prepare for upcoming battles. Formed not long after the Infantry as a part of its forces, the Scouting Corps has become more of its own force though it remains under the command of others.
Like many other more special units, the Scouting Corps has no official base, rather they go where they are called. Often boarded on major ships or among other forces. And if needed are called together. They have made for an excellent spot both for their original reconnaissance and sniper purpose, along with becoming notably good for assassinations and fast operations that are in and out.
Due to the particulars of the Scouting Corps it’s rare that they would be in a position to fail. And should they, it usually results in death. They are however known for being more frustrated with failure when it does occur, as they have a lot more weight on their shoulders than an average soldier, which can either result in a better attempt next time or over-exerting themselves. As a result there is protocol in place that should a Scout fail their mission they are to be moved elsewhere for a time, until the situation is situated.
