OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
* Intent: A species for Zenon and semi common throughout the Galaxy
* Image Credit: Link
* Canon: [N/A ]
* Links: [Mimban, Zenon]
GENERAL INFORMATION
* Name: [Domindori]
* Designation: [Sentient]
* Origins: [ Mimban]
* Average Lifespan: [60-90]
* Estimated Population: [ Scattered]
* Description:
The Domindori appear much like dark skinned humans at first glance, usually of somewhat average or tall height, and often moving as if each move was done with care or attention. They can however shift their head and face, along with parts of their body, gaining quill-like spikes and their head seeming to inflate like a puffer fish while their eyes widen giving them much superior sight such as for seeing in water
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
* Breathes: [Water (salt or fresh), Type I atmospheres. ]
* Average Height of Adults: [1.8-2 meters]
* Average Length of Adults: [N/A]
* Skin color: [Darker range of human colors with lighter ranges usually featuring unusual patterns or pigmentations of green.]
* Hair color: [Black, brown, dark red (rare), green, orange.)
* Distinctions:
-Bipedal part shapeshifters that can fit in around most human species but also survive underwater
-Can produce quill like spikes on head, and on most of the body. These are attached to the body much like nails but a bit harder to remove. They can grow back if cut off, but if pulled out may or may not be able to grow back depending on individual and damage done.
-Head and eyes change shape to appear larger, giving greater sight, and producing quills.
-Capable of spitting a green liquid two to three meters. It goes immediately to work attacking, having resemblances to both acids (for a second or two) and neuro-toxins. Typically it is most efficiently spat at eyes, ears, or mouth, as it can blind extremely quickly, and the ears and mouth are a perfect place to get it into the body. Once a second or two passes where it tries to eat away at whatever it lands on it goes to work attempting to paralyze the victim, attacking the nervous system in an attempt to prevent it from functioning and making them an easy target, or at the very least giving the Domindori a chance to escape.
-SPIKES: The spikes on the sides of their heads, and also appear nearer to most joints such as elbows, the backs of his hands, knees, and feet, are particularly sharp and painful, and can flex out to scratch or dig deeper. They possess another toxin which is far less powerful and attacks the nervous system to cause extreme pain. Though most species can live through it, it is quite a horrific experience.
-PHYSIQUE: Domindori possess a natural superiority to moving in restrictive situations such as muck and thick waters, and are thus normally quite strong and capable of movement, they helps considerably with swimming underwater where they sometimes have to move fast.
-ABSOLUTE SILENCE: They are actually a rather delicate species compared to many others, and because they don't usually group together in large numbers they have learned to try and keep to themselves. Thus ending up learning how to sit almost completely still, slowing down their body so they can hide far more efficiently. This mostly works underwater, but can partially work out in the air.
* Races: [Variations in shading and colors are typically a sign of their locations, most possess dark or green colors, while a few possess the lighter grey or sand like colors with patterns.]
* Force Sensitivity: [Standard]
Strengths:

-Can live in both water and land easily.
-Can still blend into most crowds.]
Weaknesses:
* [-Darkness is an ally, light is a pain: While most conditions normally don't bother them, particularly when they’re human in appearance, since their eyes are adapted to the darkness they are actually quite sensitive to bright lights and flashes (especially when the head is shifted), camera flashes, nearby lightning, and sudden daylight, can be quite blinding and painful to deal with. They tries his best to hide this weakness but it is not the easiest.
-Nearly human: Domindori’s species do resemble many other bipedal creatures, such as humans, and while somewhat more thus possess essentially the same weaknesses. They are no less resistant to blades, blasters, or lightsabers than anyone else.
-Fire: Because a Domindori lives in both land and water they are a bit more vulnerable to extreme heats and fire. They can handle them like humans for a short time but particularly dry air or fire that lasts long enough to dry them out can be both extremely painful and more damaging to them then normal.
CULTURE
* Diet: [Omnivore.
Particular preference for fish, eels, and frogs.
Indifference towards most types of cattle food.
Often disgusted by artificial flavorings]
* Communication: [
Mimbanese, Galactic Basic, Domindori Sign languages/touch]
* Technology level: [Low]
* Religion/Beliefs: [The Domindori vary in belief systems considerably, and tend to adopt an official or common religion nearest them. Domindori born on Mimban often seem to lack a belief system all together, relying on whatever seems to be right or wrong to them.]
* General behavior: [
The Domindori are a much more reserved race most of the time, only being forward about things when they are trying to accomplish goals. They have kept to themselves due to seeing themselves as more delicate than many races, and partially due to the Imperial occupation of their planet during a time, that subjugated other Mimbanese under their rule.
The Domindori naturally have very strong desire to protect and help their family, friends, and allies in whatever ways they can, so long as they do not hurt those closer in the circle. This seems to extend in spite of whether or not they grew up with other Domindori.
They are not prone to lying, only with the exclusion of hiding things. They may refuse to answer where a friend is, or may claim to be human in order to avoid revealing their species, typically it’s always just to fit in.
Domindori usually hunt the same way they escape, through hiding and poison. They are ambush predators extremely patient, waiting for their targets to pass them by, and then either spitting their poison in their eyes, or outright snatching them. When in large groups they often try and navigate their targets to others who can entrap them.
The Domindori seem to lack a mating season or active method of locating mates. This has resulted in a common difficulty of finding others and almost a lack of actually caring if it’s another Domindori. And as they often create familial bonds and families for the family’s, and not just for reproduction, it has only furthered their lack of numbers.]
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[Exactly when the Domindori originated is unclear, what is known is that they began to show up officially in the galaxy around 140 BBY. This was discovered when a few were documented due to their defensive spitting when attacked, resulting in records being kept of them. Before that, it is presumed their reserved nature and low numbers is what kept them from being mentioned by other Mimbanese, and due to their fitting in with humanoids most of the time, were not recognized as another species.
When the Confederacy of Independent systems invaded Mimban in 22 bby the Domindori scattered, some hijacked or stowed away on ships leaving the planet, some remained quiet hiding under the water and avoiding the droids and just not returning knowing they were still relatively ignored. The scattering of the species throughout the galaxy resulted in a lot of breeding with other species, as they were no longer in contact with most of their own. Which only furthered their own rarity, traits being much less noticeable among children, and often almost irrelevant by the grandchildren of any Domindori who bred with a human or similar species.
The Scattering of the Domindori did however result in an unfortunately more common discovery of them. Some taken into slavery usually for the purpose of harvesting their spit, as it was an excellent weapon. Or using them as assassins as they could take out an enemy without having to use a weapon through the spit and repeated use of the quills.]
