SETTING INFORMATION
* City Name: Vunavis city. Nicknamed “Dathomir City”
* Classification: Metropolis
* Location: Dathomir
* Affiliation: Dathomir Collective
* Population: Moderate
* Demographics:
Dathomirians, Dathomirian Zabraks, visiting species (5%)
* Wealth: High. Because Vunavis city is the central point of business with outsiders on the world, and as a result also the business center of Venas Mor, it features the most income.
* Stability: High.
Though some describe the city almost like a “modern artifact” due to its old styled design in structures, and very religious population, it has a very strong economic and legal setting. Much due to the clan like design, leaving no one in a situation where they’d feel a need to steal, and where if they do, they would almost always be found and caught.
Newcomers would find the Nightsisters and Zabraks tend to be rather wary of them, but not in a sense of fear, rather just suspicion. But will almost never attack them unprovoked. The governing bodies of the city are just like in the military, Zabrak males ranking as the lowest, above them the average nightsister, then Witch Commanders (or those of a similar level), and then Shamans and clan leaders. Witch commanders and above will deal with any legal disputes, but it will alway revert to the highest nearby.
There are some exceptions to rank, as if some clans have males of equal ranks as the females.
* Freedom & Oppression: [
Most Zabrak Males are treated a bit closer to slaves then equals. While this may not be instantly recognizable, as there are never beatings or even very much outwards expression of their inferiority, it is generally accepted by both parties that the Nightbrothers serve the women. There are exceptions to this however, and since Dathomir City may have more than one type of clan members are within it at a time, it is common that such idea depends entirely on the individual clans within themselves.
As part of this, they generally ignore most slave trade or mentions of it. Though going to far with a slave may get attention.
The Dathomir residents are very relaxed amongst themselves, and it would be considered a rather tight knit community in spite of its size, however many are much more stiff around outsiders, careful about what they say and who they may be.
* Description: Coming in from above Dathomir City might be a little difficult to spot, the stone structures blending in easily with the mountain and forestry around it. But if one could see it properly they would see the many buildings set up, spread out in a somewhat unregulated manner with plenty of space between each. Animals would often be seen being ridden by the Sisters for transport or ceremonial purposes.
Nearer to the mountainside itself, there is the Councillors rest. A larger building more protected than the rest.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Councillors Rest: A building in the edge of the community near the mountain side that is more fortified than the rest. It is where councils are officially held among Clan Leaders, and where judgement is made should a crime be considered necessary to be approved by more than just the clan it impacts. This is also where any stationed troops are.
Landing and trade bay: A simple enough large flat area equipped to handle incoming and leaving ships, this is somewhat separated from the city. But it is nearest all facilities made for trade, as well as where animal or transport rides can be given.
The Temple: For religious and purposes of magick there is a temple at the far end of the city, this temple digs into the ground where there are individual rooms with altars. Many of which are locked by Witches who make use of them, while some are left for open use. At the far end is Zenon’s altar and to the side a forge.
SECURITY
Medium. Much due to the warrior and tight nit culture of the Dathomirians, even regular “civilians” may get involved in any combat situation. Along with the official military that often have members present, with Witch Commanders being more present here then most places as they may be coming in and out more often. And it is common for a clan leader or shaman to be present.
In addition due to the planets trade, it keeps military ships stationed in preparation. It is not difficult to enter its space or land, so long as they are not deemed a threat. Nor to go through most of the city. However suspicious actions gain attention much quicker then in most cities, as they feel no fear with confronting outsiders.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Vunavis City began as the Reborn Night’s military base with what is now the Councillors rest being its fortress. This changed as Zenon began conglomerating many clans together to create the Collective. As a result of meetings being held here, the city began to grow. And when they started making deals with outsiders more regularly, it began to form into the central point of Dathomir both to the world and to outsiders more officially. Venas Mor and clan Reborn Night are the primary leaders of the cities structure, with Venas Mor doing a lot of the matters dealing with outsiders, while clan Reborn Night remains its primary native occupants.
